Light Blue Learning Pilot

Be part of the movement shaping teacher well-being and understanding of student behavior.

January–February 2026

A Gentle, Science-Informed Journey

Teaching has never asked more of the human body—constant changes, endless demands, dysregulated behavior, and little time to breathe.

The Light Blue Learning Pilot is an 8-week journey that helps teachers translate science into day-to-day strategies they can use tomorrow.

In just 45–60 minutes per week, you’ll:

  • Begin to learn the language of the nervous system to help student behavior improve.
  • Transform conversations about student behavior into ones that spark new insights, provoke different questions, offer fresh solutions, and inspire hope.
  • Safeguard your own wellness while helping students strengthen regulation skills.

What it’s not: This is not teaching teachers how to heal trauma, nor is it an excuse for student misbehavior.

What to Expect Each Week

Each week, you’ll receive short, practical lessons that fit real teacher life:

  • A short series of videos (10–15 minutes in total)
  • One practice or lesson plan to try in class (5–60 minutes depending on the week)
  • One reflection prompt (3 min)
  • A gentle check-in email — no compliance, just encouragement
  • Optional small-group “Co-Reg Circles” for connection and community

The 8-Week Journey

Week Theme Focus
1 What is Polyvagal Theory? Build a foundational understanding of how the nervous system works
2 Why does Polyvagal Theory matter to teaching? Link self-awareness to the improvement of teacher mental and physical health and classroom management
3 What state am I in? Begin to understand what body state you are in by mapping your nervous system
4 What does regulation mean - from a Polyvagal perspective and how do I practice it? Practice short, real-world regulation tools through a self-care lens that help you shift back to a steady state
5 Responding to student dysregulation Respond to dysregulation with calm curiosity and co-regulation
6 Student Body Literacy Help students name their states and how they feel in their bodies
7 What are practices I can teach to my students to help them learn how to self-regulate? Try a few practices with your students to help them identify ways that help them come back to a calm state
8 Integrate & Celebrate Reflect, connect, and notice your growth
